Fontijn behoort tot de absolute wereldtop in ht boksen, en is een voorbeeld voor velen. Bij de Olympische Spelen twee jaar geleden won zij een zilveren medaille bij de Europese Spelen in 2015 zegevierde ze ook al. Met de overwinning van Fontijn prolongeert zij haar titel.
